Cyrus Mistry was killed in a car accident in Maharashtra’s Palghar on Sunday. The accident happened when the car hit the road divider near Mumbai.
Along with Mr. Mistry, Jehangir Pandole, Anahita Pandole, and Darius Pandole were present in the car. Jehangir Pandole, brother of Darius Pandole, is the other person who died in the accident.
Cyrus Mistry, who succeeded Ratan Tata as chairman of Tata Sons, was killed in an automobile accident in Maharashtra’s Palghar on Sunday, police said.
Mr. Mistry was driving a Mercedes from Udwada, Gujarat, to Mumbai.
Photos from the crash site showed the damaged Mercedes.
The accident occurred 135 miles from Mumbai in Charoti, Palghar.
Jehangir Pandole, Darius’ brother, also died in the accident.
A police officer said the speeding motorist tried to pass another vehicle from the left.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis requested state police to investigate the accident.
Pallonji Mistry, Cyrus’s father, died in June at age 93.
Their business developed luxurious hotels, stadiums, and palaces across Asia.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the business tycoon’s death a “great loss.”
